This past week, Chicago’s Merchandise Mart welcomed back the 49th annual NeoCon trade show. In contrast to High Point Market, NeoCon focuses specifically on the commercial sector. As such, the exhibition showcases the latest interior designs for retail, hospitality, and workplace settings.

1. Biophilic Design

There was a great deal of buzz surrounding the term “biophilia” at this NeoCon. Biophilic design, stemming from the green architecture movement, essentially seeks to integrate nature into daily human life. This interior style employs organic elements to improve mental and physical wellness while also championing sustainable manufacturing practices. 3. Chartreuse

One color kept popping up everywhere: chartreuse. This intense hue ranged all the way from mustardy yellow undertones to hints of Pantone’s Greenery.
